Insulin Cool Wallets provide a highly effective, low cost
solution for the problem of keeping insulin at a safe
temperature, without the need for refridgeration. Frio
wallets give greater freedom to people with Diabetes and
others using medication which has to be kept constantly
cool.
Frio
wallets keep insulin safe safe for at least 45 hours
- even in constant environmental temperatures of 100 degrees.
Frio wallets receive extensive support from Diabetes associations
worldwide, have been extensively tested by the British
Medical Devices Evaluation Unit and are FDA (Food and
Drug Administration) approved to be sold in the USA.
The principle is simple. To activate the wallet immerse
in cold water for 5-15 minutes. Crystals contained in
the panels of the wallet then expand into a gel, which
remains cool for several days - relying on the process
of evaporation for cooling.
The interior part of the wallet is 65-35 Poly-cotton and
has panels containing super absorbent crystals which are
non-toxic and non-flammable.
The outer pouch is Nylon Polyamide, manufactured from
a DuPont fibre "Cambrelle". The material is
permeable and facilitates the evaporation process. Although
activated by water, a feature of the product is that,
after towel drying, the wallet is dry to the touch.
